Each year, thousands of people travel to high mountains, either because of mountain climbing expeditions or just for ski holidays with the family. For such trips, they spend large amounts of money and time. Mountain climbers must spend large amounts of their time in base camps, where they acclimatize to severe pressure and hypoxic conditions, which they will have to face while climbing the summit of a mountain. Even with large amounts of necessary time spent there, they may still experience acute mountain sickness. This is a complex of symptoms, such as loss of appetite, insomnia or fatigue, manifesting itself in humans at high altitudes. Other undesirable effects may cause additional complications when climbing the mountain, or just completely spoil a relaxing holiday.

Response of each individual to high altitude is strongly influenced by his or her genetic make-up. Some people, for example, are more prone to get the acute mountain sickness earlier than others. However, scientific studies point to the fact that at the elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level, some 80 percent of people exhibit the symptoms of acute mountain sickness to a greater or lesser extent. Of course, this risk cannot be eliminated entirely. Nonetheless, it can be significantly reduced in a cost- and time-effective manner, using a correct and timely use of hypoxic systems.

Sleeping and working out in conditions simulating high-altitude conditions, mountain climbers can be prepared in advance in the comfort of their own home or in its vicinity. Faced with the alpine extremes, they will be generally better prepared for adverse effects. The same goes for tourists and people on vacations that live at low altitudes and want to enjoy a holiday in the mountains without complications. There is a ready-to-be used hypoxic program for them, which lasts only four weeks which will perfectly prepare them for the stay in the mountains.


People who exercise the option of acclimatization by using hypoxic systems can therefore expect above all:

  • Reduced symptoms of acute mountain sickness
  • Savings of resources that would be otherwise used for acclimatization at a base camp
  • Increase of the likelihood of successful climb to the mountain summit
